Haldeman & Erlichman

POETRY

Very few people remember Haldeman & Erlichman, and even fewer know which is which. Which goes to show that even infamy is fleeting. "Haldeman & Erlichman . . ." people say, "Haldeman & Erlichman. One of them is dead. I'm sure of that. Maybe both of them are dead." Haldeman & Erlichman, one the lesser known of those comedy teams that include Burns and Allen, Abbott and Costello, Martin and Lewis, Hamilton and Burr. Haldeman & Erlichman still play carnivals and county fairs in places like Keokuck or Kokomo. They sing, they do magic tricks. "Hi! I'm Haldeman!" "I'm Erlichman! One of us has a crewcut." "Can you guess which one?"
